Citizen Science Night

Join us to hear Florida State University biologist Dr. Austin Mast present the theories and practices of Citizen Science. Rebecca Means from the Coastal Plains Institute and Roz Kilcollins, the Bald Point volunteer coordinator from the The Florida Horseshoe Crab Watch (FHCW), will showcase their research projects. Come with your questions about these fascinating projects and volunteer opportunities!

What is “CITIZEN SCIENCE?” It is the involvement of the public in scientific research. Citizen science connects professionals to community volunteers who have the opportunity to advance research by conducting periodic surveys or observations of a specific phenomenon.
